Alex G. Maynard

Alex G. Maynard, 52 of Mt. Gay went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington. He was born June 21, 1967 at Logan to the late Clyde and Chloe Crittenden Maynard. Alex was a tire technician and worked for GCR for 33 years. He was most recently employed with Appalachian Tire. He was also the Assistant Pastor of Whitman Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Maynard; son, Alex S. Maynard (Ashley Workman); granddaughter, Abigail Grace Maynard; brothers, Michael (Brandy) Conley, and Craig (Tina) Maynard; sisters, Alesa (Rick) McCoy, Evon Mullin s, and Kathy (Jeff) Strum. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday August 7, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Bishop Rick McCoy officiating. Following the services his remains are to be cremated. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
