Amanda Louise Akers, 57 of Whitman, WV departed this life and gained her precious wings on April 6, 2023, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Mandy was born March 17, 1966, in Logan, WV to the Mary and Naaman “Jack” Preece. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by Kevin Akers, Butch Preece, Rita Smith, Patty Preece, Mitchel Smith, and little Shyann Akers.
Many was known as LouLou by many dear friends and very well known as one of the best bar tenders in Logan. She also had a remarkable way of making everyone feel so loved.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving siblings, Leonard Akers, Becky (Charlie) Adkins, Bryan (Mary) Akers, and Shelia (Joe) Preece Cain; sister-in-law, Irene Akers; she was the precious aunt to Joseph (Amanda) Vance, Tony Akers, Bryan Akers, Rebecca (Gabe) Frye, Kala (Jose) Ocampo, Kenny (Tara) Akers, Mary Akers, Brandon (Courtney) Pritchard, Austin Vance, Desirae Akers, Kelli (Lee) Goodman, Sara Akers, Daphney Akers, JT Smith, and Chad Smith. She was also an amazing great-aunt to Ethan Frye, Olivia, Bristol, Maverick, and Memphis Goodman, Sawyer Belcher, Odin and Jack Ocampo, Xander and Eli Vance, Elisha Smith, Desmond Akers, Kent and Dane Pritchard, Xander, Gunner, Ryder, and Alyssa Akers.
Honoring her wishes her remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Akers-James Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
