Armenda Marcum Miller, 86, of Stollings, was carried on wings of love to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
Born January 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Virgie Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Stella Hager; granddaughter, Teresa Hager; her first husband and the father of her children, Russell Marcum; her second husband, Ralph Miller; two sisters: Clistie Chafin and Polly Marcum; and three brothers: Flem, Johnny, and Joe Harris.
Mom always said that her joy of this life was cooking a big dinner and having all of her children gathered around the table eating. She loved making quilts and everyone will miss her baked and fried pies. Mom also loved her church, Faith Baptist Temple, and was very involved in the many aspects of the church. She loved singing about Godâs love and Heaven. She was loved by many people and will surely be missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Russell Marcum, with whom she made her home; Leonard (Catherine) Marcum of Marion, SC; James (Patty) Marcum of Ed Stone Branch; Raymond (Patty) Marcum of Yuma; Mike (Jody) Marcum of Justice Addition; her only surviving daughter, Joann (Roger) Williamson of Logan; eleven grandchildren: Janet, Leon, Robin, Timmy, Leonard Jr., Ricky, James Jr., Melody, Patricia, Leslie, and Danny; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the James Funeral Home Chapel in Aracoma with Rev. P.J. Tomblin, Rev. Danny Williamson, and Rev. Robbie Gollihue officiating. Burial will follow at The Harris Family Cemetery at Jennyâs Creek. She will be carried to rest by James Marcum Jr., Leon Hager Jr., Roger Wolfe, Ira Evans, Bill Craddock, and Logan Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Blankenship, Cecil Scott, Jack and Jerry Calandros, Harlen Podunavac, Roger Elkins Sr., and Arnold Bowen. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
