Arthur Dean Hunt

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, Arthur Dean Hunt, 77 of Crooked Creek, W.V. went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 5th, 2023.

He was born August 9th, 1945, in Mare Creek, Kentucky, son of Moses & Mildred Hunt. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Moses & Mildred Hunt, Brother Donald Hunt, Paternal Grandparents Pim & Jennie Hunt, Maternal Grandparents Lee Walter & Virgie Harmon, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Left to Cherish his memory is his wife, Alice; Sons: Greg (Ranelle) Hunt of Crooked Creek, Tommy Hunt of Crooked Creek; Daughter Rachel (Derrick) Workman of Crooked Creek; Granddaughters Sasha (Ron) Neece of Crooked Creek, Lydia Workman of Crooked Creek; Grandsons Josh (Autumn) Hunt of Kermit, Marty Miller of Chapmanville; Great-Grandchildren Elleck Hunt, Aubree and Bentlee Neece, and Mandy, Jacob, and Landon Miller.

He attended Logan High School in Logan, WV. He was a retired coal miner and Army veteran. He loved hunting, the outdoors, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 9th, at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rodney Robinette officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Josh Hunt, Ron Neece, Derrick Workman, Alan McComas, Rodney Adkins, Dorsey Jeffrey, and Marty Miller. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Workman and Martin Miller.
