Barbara Mathis

Barbara Jane Mathis 55 of Verdunville passed away Tuesday June 3, 2008 at her residence in Verdunville. She was born June 4, 1952 at Braeholm, WV. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Ray and Angeline Castle Legg. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother: Robert Legg. Barbara had a very fulfilling career as a laboratory medical technologist for many years. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Caroline Nicole Mills, Ph. D. of Birmingham, Alabama. She is also survived by many loving family members including her sister Frances Olliff and her brothers: Kenneth, Dwight, Jack and Melvin. She will leave behind many loved ones including Bill Finley. Mom I love you more than I could ever have told you and I am missing you terribly. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday June 8, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home with Rev. Elbert Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Frye Cemetery at Verdunville. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Saturday June 7, 2008 at James Funeral Home Chapel.
