Beatrice Abdon Mullins Beatrice Abdon Mullins, 87, of Merritt Island , Florida , passed away peacefully with her children by her side Saturday morning, July 19, 2008, at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge , Florida . She was born April 9, 1921, in Greenup , Kentucky , to Amy and Jennings Abdon. Her father passed away when she was three years old during a flu epidemic, and she was later raised by Amy and her stepfather Millard F. Curry. Beatrice was raised in Logan County where she met and married Clarence E. Mullins. He preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by their eight children and their spouses: Betty Jo and husband Dan R. Moore of Charleston, WV; Jeanetta and husband Harold Chart of Manhatten, Kansas; Clarence E. Mullins, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Romulus, Michigan; Brenda and her husband Richard Skibo of Holden, WV; Fred Mullins and his wife Nicky of Romulus, Michigan; Sharon and her husband David DeMuth of Boca Raton, Florida; Pamela and her husband Carl White of Holden, WV; and Carolyn and her husband Michael Staton of Merritt Island, Florida. She is survived by the following grandchildren: Michael Chart, Angel Moore, Daniel Moore, Rich Skibo, Amber Gore, Kaelin DeMuth, Leigh Anna Dowdy, and Lisa Chamberland. She is survived by the following great-grandchildren: Brock Chart; Morgan Mick; Austin Chart; Daniel Moore, III; and Isabella Moore. Two surviving sisters are Mary Agnes Johnson of Dallas , TX , and Pat Munich of Austin , TX . She is also survived by her loving friend and sister-in-law Mabel Talbert. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Mullins, mother Amy Curry, father Jennings Abdon, stepfather Millard Curry, sisters Leona Trivette and Doris Hayes, and brothers Jackie B. and Billy Curry. Beatrice and Clarence lived in Logan and Mingo Counties before moving to Florida in l973. Beatrice and Clarence were members of the College Park Church of God in Cocoa , Florida . Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her presence and laughter will be missed, and her memory cherished by all the lives she touched. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at James Funeral Home in Logan . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the funeral home with Pastors Theodore Ballard of the College Park Church of God and Rev. Glen White of the Central United Baptist Church of Logan officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to College Park Church of God, 1957 Rosetine St. , Cocoa , FL 32926 .
