Beatrice (Jenny) Virginia Allen Nunley

“Jenny” Beatrice Virginia (Allen) Nunley, 88 of Holden, WV went to her Heavenly Home Saturday February 3, 2018 at her daughter Janet’s home after being sick for the past few months. Jenny was born Sunday January 12, 1930 at Pike County, KY to the late Horace and Nora (Elkins) Allen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Teddie D. Nunley; 9 brothers, Warnick Allen, Marlin (Mug) Allen, Clayton (Clyde) Allen, Norman (Slick) Allen, Jack Allen, Wallace (Shade) Allen, Stirl Allen, Denver (Toby) Allen, 3 sisters, Gertie Nichals, Hester Church, Inist May Allen 2 sons, Jerry Nunley and Kenny “KJ” Nunley, 2 grandsons, Michael Nunley and Brad Houck, and 1 great-grandson, Ty Wade – Allen Shadd, 1 extended grandson, Marcus Franklin. Jenny was a Christian who lived her life trying to be an example of God to everyone. She was an active member of 5 & 6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church. In 1947 she married her late husband Teddie. Then they started a family having 5 kids. Over the years her family just kept growing, giving her a total of 41 immediate family members, and to her family was her greatest achievement. Her joy in life always came from being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and cousin. She was always there for her family, showing them how much she loved them. Each of them were what gave her happiness. Survivors include: her sister, Ann Hackney; two daughters, Gail (Tom) Marcum and Janet Houck; her son, “Spot” Marlin (Brenda) Nunley; 9 grandkids, Shavonne (Anthony) Shadd, Amy (Tony) Jeffrey, Bryan Marcum, Jessica (John) Newman, Melissa Franklin, Crystal (Ryan) Lockhart, Destiny Nunley, Todd Nunley, and Chelsey Workman; 14 great-grandkids, Peyton (Tyler) Lendero, Abigail Jeffrey, Ariel Jeffrey, Wyatt Jeffrey, Elyana Marcum, Bryanna Marcum, Joseph Marcum, Brie-Eyre Franklin, Jayden Lockhart, Gage Shadd, Scarlet Nunley, Cody Nunley, Zackery Nunley, Lillyana Newman; and a great-great-granddaughter, Fiona Lendero. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday February 7 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Rev. Larry Light officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Pallbearers will be: Bryan Marcum, Todd Nunley, Ryan Lockhart, Anthony Shadd, John Newman, and Tyler Lendero. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joseph Marcum. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday also at the funeral home.
