Benton I. Shamblin

Benton I. Shamblin 83 of Stollings went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 19, 2008 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1925 at Mammoth, WV. He was the son of the late Basil and Alva Coleman Shamblin. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by Three Brothers: Clide Shamblin, Kenneth Shamblin and Arther Shamblin and One Sister: Phyllis Shamblin. Benton was a WW II Veteran with many honorable metals. He was a person so full of Love and easy to Love back.Everyone he met he left a part of himself with them. He is survived by his Loving Wife of 58 years: Patricia (Pat) Haynes Shamblin, One Son: Barry Stephen Shamblin of Tennessee, One Daughter: Sherry (Mike) Steele of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, One Grandson: Shane (Carol) Steele of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, One Great Garndson: David Jackson Steele of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, One Sister: Norma Woods of Chesapeake, W.V. and One Nephew: Brian (Bee) Woods of Chesapeake, WV. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday June 23, 2008 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Mr. Tim Secrist officiating. There will also be Military Graveside Service. Visitation will be Sunday June 22, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
