Berbin Townsend Sr. 69 of Logan departed this life Sunday sept 13 at CAMC memorial.
He was born August 1, 1951 at Logan, WV the son of the late Winford and Gladys Townsend.
He began working at the age of 18 in various positions at local car dealerships, his final employment was with the WVRJA as a correctional officer where he retired in 2013.He was a devoted husband, father, Pap and great Pap He enjoyed spending time with his family. his children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and the many motorcycle trips with his brother, nephews, and friends.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Amy Townsend; son, Berbin Jr (Sis) Townsend of Logan; a daughter, Brandi Bryant (Aaron Burgess) of Chapmanville; grandsons, Austin (Laken) Townsend of Logan, Trey (Taylor) McFadden of Hurricane, Diesel and Brody Bryant. Greatgrandchildren, Hayden Townsend, Asher Townsend, and was awaiting the arrival of his first great granddaughter, Alice Townsend. Brother, David (Diana) Townsend of Logan; a sister, Brenda (Robert) Brewer of Logan; and a host of nieces and nephews and his extended family whom he adored.
This man touched so many hearts along his 69 years and will be loved and missed by all.

Services will be conducted at Akers-James funeral home on Thursday, September 17 at 1pm with the Rev. Walter Gore officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm, Wednesday, September 16, also at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Davy Townsend, Bobby Brewer, Dewey Gore Jr., Robert brewer, Shaun Townsend, Charlie Rice, and his son in law Michael Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are Berbin Townsend Jr and Aaron Burgess.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the Governorâs guidelines for large gatherings only 25 people will be allowed in the facility at one time. Please plan your visit accordingly as you may be asked to wait before entering the building. Face coverings are also required when inside the building and social distancing should be taken into consideration.
