Betty Jean Earles

We are deeply saddened to announce that Betty Jean (Manual) Earles, 92 departed this world Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Trinity Health Care of Logan after trying to recover from a fall that injured her knee.

Betty was born December 30, 1930, in Logan, WV to the late Bill and Loucretia Manual. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Earles; her beloved only child, Greg Earles; sisters, Helen Brown, and Virginia Wilson, and her brother, Billy Manual.

She was a life-long resident of Logan County, which she loved dearly. Betty also loved the community of Omar which she grew up in and later worked in during the 1960’s and 1970’s at Omar Mercantile Store. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Logan. Betty enjoyed going to church when she was able. She loved taking casual drives down memory lane in the community she grew up in, talking about her childhood memories, and she always looked forward to her weekly spa-day.

Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law, Faye Earles; her grandsons, whom were the light of her life and that she loved unconditionally, Aaron (Jennifer) Earles of Mississippi, and Barry (Rachel) Earles of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Gabe, Jackson, Amelia, and Beckham Earles of Ohio; brothers, Pete (Francis) Manual, and Mike (Cathy) Manual of Logan. Betty had many friends from all over that she cherished, Beverly Holcombe of Omar, and Shirley Phillips of Omar are just a couple she held dear.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville with Evangelist Jason Trick officiating. A short viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan.
