Betty Louise Keener Jackson, age 72 of Duncan Fork West Virginia went to be with the Lord and her eternal home on May 18, 2023.

 

She was born May 16,1951 to Earnest Harold “Red” and Margaret Evans Keener in Logan, WV. She married Larry Joe Butcher on April 10, 1972 and they had three children Jennifer Dempsey, Baby Boy Butcher, Rachael Muncy. She later married Oliver Jackson Jr. on August 31, 1983 and she gained two sons James and Keith Jackson.

 

She worked at the Logan Banner, worked at Holden Hospital as a Physical Therapist, and was an office manager for Dr. Feathers up until she retired. She was a very God fearing, loving, caring Mother, Grandmother, and Great- Grandmother. She loved to cook, read, and loved daisies. If you knew Betty you knew about her famous hummingbird cake, which was a hit everywhere she took it to. Betty was dedicated to the Lord, and when able she attended Verdunville Church of God she was passionate about church and reading her bible. She loved to spend her time studying and learning more about the Lord on a daily basis. Betty enjoyed learning and teaching people new things. She was highly educated and it showed daily.

 

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver (OJ) Jackson Jr., her parents, Earnest and Margert Kenner, sons, Baby Boy Butcher and James (Jamie) Jackson, her sister, Mary (Koochie) Keener Collins, Brother-in-law, Bobby Collins, and Special Nephew, Jaren Micheal Goff. Also, her first husband and friend, Larry Joe Butcher.

 

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Danny) Dempsey, Rachael Muncy, and her son Keith (Daryla) Jackson. Grandchildren Jenna Dempsey (her baby), Dakota Jackson, Haylea (Vinson) Maynard, Cameron Jackson, Nickolas Jackson, Jacob Curry, Nathaniel Jackson, Blake Muncy, and Zoey Jackson. Great - Grandchildren Kendal Maynard, Jaxon Dempsey, Brantley Maynard, JackLynn Dempsey, and Morgan Maynard. Siblings Teresa (Larry) Bryant, Tammy (David) Long, Haroldene Kenner. Special family Bethany, Jazzlynn, Jacelynn, Leslie, Taylor Talan, Heather, Tiffany, Luke, Noah. Special Godchild BreAnna Collins. Special lifelong friends Gayle Sprouse and Letha Butcher.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Verdunville Church of God with Pastor Michael Hartwell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 also at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be Danny Dempsey, Vinson Maynard, Jacob Curry, Blake Muncy, Nathaniel Jackson, Kenneth Estep, Jeremy Collins, Jaxon Dempsey, and Brantley Maynard. Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Marcum, Jeffery Collins, Little David Long, Jorden Goff, and Nickolas Jackson.
