Billy Ray Sipple, 71 from Central City/Slab Town of Logan, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 26, 1951 in Logan, he was the son of the late Leroy & Minnie (Taylor) Sipple.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee, Roger, and Homer Sipple, and one sister Barbara Lloyd. He attended Logan High School, and then later went to serve in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he attended Southern WV Community & Technical College for 2 years. He was a coal miner and a superior mine foreman for many years that was esteemed by many fellow coworkers. He was an avid sports fan, loved coaching many little league teams, and supporting Logan Wildcat basketball. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and recently became a great-grandfather. He was a family man who cherished his family & friends.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Billy are: his loving wife of a little over 50 years, Brenda Joyce (Porter) Sipple; his two sons: Billy (Angie) Sipple and Josh Sipple; his daughter: Valerie (Jeremiah) Carter; his six grandchildren: Ally (Derek) Wellman, Abby (Tyler) Bowen, Raylee Sipple, Jeremiah Ethan Carter, Jasmine Carter, Trenton Sipple; and a very special great-granddaughter: Parker Grace Bowen; his 3 sisters: Dorothy (Danny) Murray, Christine (the late Gary) Evans, and Mary (the late Raymond) Fleming; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Billy had a great life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family & friends, and his confidence & bravery. He knew he was a devout Christian, and he was just ready to go to his Heavenly home.
Friends may call the Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan on Sunday, May 7 from 12 to 2 pm. Visitation will be 12 to 2 pm., and the funeral service will start at 2 pm. with Rev. Vivie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Pecks Mill, WV. Pallbearers will be Bryan Blevins, Chris Gent, Jason Wilcox, Charlie Lakatos, Michael Stallard, and Mark Music.
