Carlos Monroe Cox, 75, of Whitman was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
He was born February 10, 1933 a son of the late William "Buster" and Grace Roark Cox of Whitman.
He was a USMC veteran who proudly served his country and term in Korea. For 20 years he was a self employed hydraulic serviceman under the name C.M.C. Hydraulics. He was currently a truck driver which he greatly enjoyed for Logan Plating.
He was a member of the Whitman Church of god where he was a Sunday School teacher and wonderful minister as well. He was an amazing man of faith who served, worshipped and loved God for 30 years. Only those that really knew him were so blessed to have met and known a true man of God.
He was survived in this life by his proud wife of 27 years Evelyn Mullins Cox of Whitman, Four Children Gary Cox, Carla (Gary) Tarvis, Rush (Betty) Cox all of Wilmington, NC and Mike (Kim) Cox of Gilbert. Three stepchildren Paul, Donna and Danny Kelly all of Whitman and one God adopted daughter Lora Workman of Logan. He was also survived by two brothers Don (Alma) Cox of Whitman, David (Lucy) Cox of San Diego, CA and one sister Hazel Cox of Shadyside, OH. He had several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also had 23 grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren. he was dearly loved by a large host of friends and family.
Close friends and family will honorably be serving as pallbearers.
Services will be held Saturday July 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. Wayne Damron and Rev. Henry Damron officiating. Rev. Roy Adkins will be the special singer. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.jamesfh.com.
