Cecil Willis

Cecil Willis, 82 of Henlawson, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 19th, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born December 11th, 1941, in Lincoln County, WV to the late Vinson and Adina (Spears) Willis. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Oda Benny Willis, Orville Willis, and James Lee Willis; sisters, Esta Cochran, Evyleen Garbosky, and Imogene Elkins; grandsons, Tracey Dale Evans, Jonathan Willis, and Cecil Willis III.

Cecil was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for C&O Railroad for 3 years, and 32 years as a coal miner. He volunteered for 22 years for the LRMC Auxiliary. Cecil was a born again Christian for 48 years and he was a Deacon for 29 years at the Brightstar FWB Church. He was known to a lot for his woodwork and loved spending time at his son Cecil's farm. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Nora Willis; his children, Cecil (Barb) Willis Jr., Monica (Jay) Mullins, Berdina (Bill) Hager, Timothy (Tina) Willis, and Becky (Kevin) Harvey; Sisters, Rosa (Willis) Lovejoy, and Myrtle (Willis) Prince; brothers, Arthur Willis, and Vinson Willis Jr; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Pallbears will be Chris Willis, Michael Willis, Billy Hager, JJ Johnson, BJ Adkins, and Cecil Willis Jr. II

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 26th, 2024, at the Brightstar Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor James Vance officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service, Friday at the church.
