Charles Delbert Patterson, 73 of Whitman, WV went to his Heavenly Home Friday, August 14, 2020 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1946 at Logan, WV to the late VJ & Ruth (Partlow) Patterson of Cora. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Vern Jr., Frank, John, and Joseph; his sister, Ruth Cacimano who passed away just 24 hours before him; and his loving daughter, Pamela Sue. Charles was a lifelong resident of Logan. He was an electrician in the mines and was a member of the UMWA. He loved fishing and talking to his friends. He also loved working on his equipment with his son. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, daughters, Michelle Maynard and Lynn Patterson; son Charlie Patterson Jr.; stepson, Kevin (Tina) Grimmett; sisters, Betty Hagedorn, Catherine Ribble, and Virginia Lynn; niece, Linda (Rick) Sampsell; nephew, Gary Patterson that was always there for him; grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna, Adam, Neil, Katelyn, Emily, Josh, and Charolette Grace; step-grandchildren, Kailey Grimmett and Cody Mullins; great-grandchildren, Everett and Noah. He was blessed to have several other kids who loved him as their paw, Liam and Own Blevins, Peyton Lambert, Rylee Brown, Isiah Moore, Laken Osbourne, Skyee Pack, Josiah Pack, Kira Pack, and Anna Pack. The family would also like to thank his caretakers, Vella Finley, Sally Maynard, Kelli Moore, Vern Williamson, and Marcy Jackson; nurses who he loved dearly, Nancy and Jessica; neighbors, Willie and Trish Pack, and their little family at the Holiday Inn Express, Tina Mullins for taking care of everything, and Timmy Frye for taking him fishing and giving him fun outings. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville with Pastor Vivie Marcum officiating and Bill and Susie Adkins will be singing.
