Chester Mahon, 72, of Delbarton, WV passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born September 5, 1935 in Mingo Co. He was the son of the late Jessie James and Stella Ooten Mahon. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Mahon. A daughter, Sherry Mahon, son, Mark Mahon and his step-son, Eugene “Blue” Arthur. Survivors include his daughter, Chessie Mahon Adkins of Raleigh. His step-daughters; Tina “Hester” Arthur of Belo, Micky Ooten of Belo and Joni Gillman of Mullens. His step-sons; Harmon Hunt Jr. of California and Phillip Spangler of Delbarton. His grandchildren; Renee Hodge, Randall Goff, Brandy Johnson, Johnny Mike “Mook” Johnson, Chester Mahon, Jaquda Mahon, Chalmer Mahon, Taylor Lane Mahon, Jessie Mahon, Rebecca Mahon, Patience Arthur, Austin Maynard, Kendall Maynard, Mike Cooper, Cortney Cooper, Olivia Boggs, Justin Ooten and Travis “T.J.” Parsley. His great-grandchildren; Shawn Michael Johnson, Katelyn Hodge, Dwayne Hodge and Elizabeth Mahon. Other survivors include his sisters; Bessie Howard, Vesta Runyon, Anna Lou Hatfield, Patty Starr, Dixie Seese, Lois Jean Jones and Esta. His brothers; Jessie Mahon, Woodrow Mahon and Robert Mahon. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2008 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the Little Dove Freewill Baptist Church at Belo. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at the Little Dove Freewill Baptist Church with Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mahon Family Cemetery at Belo with Military Graveside Rites. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com. James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.
