DAVID ADKINSslideshow CHAUNCEY, W.Va. â David John Adkins, 77, of Chauncey, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
David was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Omar Mining Co.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Adams Adkins; three sons David (Joann) Adkins, Cliff (Tammy) Adkins, and Michael (Yolanda) Adkins; five grandchildren, Clifton Adkins, Adam Adkins, Alexandra Price, Jeremiah Adkins and Logan Adkins; two great- grandchildren Bradley and Peyton Price, and one sister, Anna Herndon. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents Delbert and Anna Adkins; one brother, Delbert Adkins, and one sister, Margie Meade.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the James Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Starr and Rev. Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden at Godby with Military Graveside Rites.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
