David Gene Dingess, 72, beloved husband of Lois Elizabeth Dingess, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, passed away Friday, March 23, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, after suffering an extended illness. Born December 10, 1934, in Holden , West Virginia , he was the son of Franklin Pierce and Bertha Farley Dingess of Holden , WV . A father of three, he, like his wife, enjoyed hunting and camping the mountains and valleys, and fishing the lakes, rivers, and streams of West Virginia . Mr. Dingess was best known by his community of family, friends, and neighbors through his church work, love of beekeeping, and the many years he spent with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. at Logan , WV . Mr. Dingess and his family have been members in good standing of the 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church for a great many years. Mr. Dingess was preceded in death by his wife Lois Elizabeth Dingess, his sisters Pearl Thomas of Brookville, Florida , Ruth Nelson of Hewett , WV , Dessie Workman of Charleston , WV , Osa Mae Dingess of Holden, his brothers Otis Dingess of Monitor, Dell Dingess of Chapmanville, Naaman Dingess of Cincinnati , Ohio . He is survived by his brother Fred Dingess of Milton , WV , sister Sylvia Bryant of Hamilton , Ohio . His daughter and her husband, Deborah Lynn (Randall T.) Brumfield of Holden , WV ; their sons Joel Richard Dingess of Chapmanville, and Tracy Neal Dingess of Morgantown , WV . His grandchildren Lori Elizabeth Dingess of Logan, WV, Abbagail Watkins of Sissonville, WV, Timothy Andrew Browning of Fort Carson, Colorado now stationed in Iraq, and Joshua Caleb Browning of Holden, WV, step grandson Eric Randall (Jennifer Dawn) Brumfield, and great grandson, Hayden Eric Brumfield. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 o’clock at the 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church . Friends may greet the family at 6 o’clock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 2:00 o’clock also at the 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Light officiating.
