Deborah Lynn Vernatter, 67, of Logan, West Virginia, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Deborah was born December 12, 1950 in Logan, West Virginia, the oldest of two children born to the late James and Gladys Vance. She is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Vance. She is survived by her husband, Terry Dell Vernatter and their two children, Tara Beth Harshbarger and husband, Chad and Terry Shane Vernatter and wife, Katrina; grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, and Zachary Vernatter, Gabriel Boggs, and Conner McKee.
Deborah is most proud of being a loving, caring wife of 48 years, stay at home mom, and granny to five amazing boys. She enjoyed being in the church choir at Crooked Creek Church of Christ in Peach Creek, WV where she also served 40 years as the typist of the weekly church bulletin.
Deborah took great joy in being outdoors â fishing, camping, hiking, riding ATVâs and motorcycling, as well as just sitting outside on the porch enjoying the hummingbirds, flowers, and nature around her. She will affectionately be remembered most for her unconditional love, kindness, friendship, and smiling face.
Services will be held to receive family and friends on Friday, June 22 at 6:00 â 9:00 pm and Saturday, June 23 at 1:00 pm at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan, West Virginia with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
We have the faith and promise through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, we will see Deborah again. Until then, even though our hearts are breaking, we will lovingly cherish and carry her with us every moment until we see her sweet, smiling face again.
