Delores Jean Maynard, 92, of West Logan entered into her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 16, 2021.
Jean, as she was known by to family and friends, was born in Logan on August 28, 1929, to the late S. V. âVesterâ and Esta Queen Maynard. Also preceding her in death were brothers Marvin, Stanford, Masil and Bill; sisters-in law Edna Puckett Maynard, Betty Cox Maynard, Phyllis Rankin Maynard, and Frances White Maynard; nephews Phil Maynard and John Banks; special friend Pansy Easley, and fur baby Kattie.
Jean was a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church of Mud Fork and she enjoyed talking to family and friends, working in her yard, car rides and breakfast.
She will be missed by those that survive her including her brother, Darrell of Earlysville, VA; sister-in-law, Jane Maynard of Huntington; nieces, Becky (Tom) Ferguson of Ft. Worth; TX, Gayle (Mike) Van Matre of Medical Lake, WA; Patricia Maynard of West Logan; Kristi Maynard, Kathi (Barry) Ramsey and Kortni (Kevin) Harper, all of Madison; Michele Maynard of Atlanta, GA; Karren (Darnell Ramsey) Maynard of Mocksville, NC; Katrina (Steve) Northcott of Earlysville, and Kandis Banks of Grimesland, NC; nephews, Greg (Kim) Maynard of Earlysville, VA; Randy Maynard of Huntington; Darren (Kathy) Maynard of Crozet, VA; Mike (Meagan) Maynard of Charlottesville, VA; 26 great-nieces and nephews; 15 great-great nieces and nephews; special friends, Melvin and Murl Kay Meade and Peggy Tomblin, and her fur baby Lilah.
There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 11 am at Highland Memory Gardens with Pastor Lonnie Gore officiating.
Pallbearers will be Greg, Darren, Mike, and LaMarr Maynard; Steve Northcott, Kevin Harper, Camron Ramsey, and David Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Maynard, Melvin Meade, John Mills, Jack Baisden, Rufus Dingess, and David Belcher.
In lieu of flowers, Jean requested that donations be made to the Maryetta United Baptist Church.
