Dorothy âDotteâ Hanley, 86, of Louisville KY, formerly of West Logan, WV, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, in her sleep..
Born November 18, 1923, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bernice Hay. Also preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Tom Hanley.
Dotte was a Claims Representative with the Social Security Administration in Logan and loved her job. She had also worked as the office manager of the Logan County Food Stamp Program and established the Food Stamp office in Clarksburg. Dotte was a member of the First Christian Church of Logan. The special loves of her life were her âwonderfulâ children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son Dr Tom Hanley and his wife Norma of Louisville KY, and two daughters Janet Sweigart and her husband Ken of Dover PA and Diane Hensley and her husband Jake of West Logan. Dotteâs grandchildren include Sean Kelly of Dallas, TX, Jessica and Patricia Hensley of Logan, LTJG Jeffrey Hanley of TX, Ryan Johnson of Philadelphia, PA, Alan Michael, Drew, and Caitlin Hanley of Louisville, KY. Dotte is survived by two great-grandchildren Allison Kelly of Dallas, TX, and Alec Hensley of Logan.
Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 8, at the First Christian Church of Logan with Rev Ken Hardway officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Gardens Cemetery.

Dotteâs family especially thanks the caring staff and residents at Atria Springdale for bringing kindness, friendship, music, and laughter to our mother.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the James Funeral Home.
