Dorothy Louise May,77, of Dingess went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2008 at home. She was a homemaker and a very active member of the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blackburn May. Her parents Monroe and Lenora Muncy and her step-mother, Martha Muncy. One step-sister Faye Parsley. A sister-in-law, Nancy Muncy Knott and a special aunt and uncle, Ethel and Buster Muncy. Dorothy was born March 8, 1930 at Rita, W.Va. She is survived by two sons; William Thomas (Peanut) Queen of Dingess and Carmen "Wess" (Bridgett) of Clover, South Carolina. One daughter, Drema (Billy) Damron Jr. of Dingess. One brother, Fred Muncy of Dingess and a half sister, June Gail Hammond of Williamson. Four step-children; Patricia Fleming, Colleen Young, Connie Marcum and Allen May. Four grandchildren; Misty Vance, Shane Queen, Daisy and Deanna May. Two great-grandchildren, Bryan Blackmon and Steven Vance. One nephew, Tommy Muncy and three neices; Linda Hutchinson, Debbie Rockel and Lisa Marcum. A special sister in Christ, Clara Mae Finley and a huge host of friends. Dorothy will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 7, 2008 at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess with Rev. Curtis Booth, Rev. Joaquine Ooten and Rev. Cornelius Lackey officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery at Dingess. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the church. Pallbearers will be Billy Damron Jr., Jim Hutchison, Daniel Muncy, Robbie May, Brian May, Bobby Finley, Wetzel Finley and Jimmy Finley. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com.
