A memorial service to honor the life of Edgar Franklin will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, November 2, 2015 at James Funeral Home in Logan, West Virginia, 400 Main Ave., Logan, WV 25601. A committal service with full military rites will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV 25064. Edgar Franklin, 79, of Camden, SC formerly of Logan, WV, died Tuesday October 27, 2015. He was born in West Virginia, son of the late Musco and Tellie Bailey Franklin. He was a retired US army veteran and was also retired from the US Postal service. Surviving are his son, John Franklin; daughter Cindy Hornsby; grandchildren, Kasie and Stefanie Hornsby, Kyle Franklin and Whitney Knorr; great-grandchildren, Caden, Adalyn and Emmett Knorr and Claire Quarles; sisters, Linda-Carol Smith (Allie), Juanita Hughes (Ken), Billie-Ann Franklin; brothers, Howard Franklin (Faye), Jim Franklin and Pete Sheppard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tellie and Musco Franklin and a brother Claude Sheppard. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel and James Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.
