Edna Chambers Maynard

Edna Fay (Chambers) Maynard, 93, of Godby Heights passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born September 1, 1927 at Crooked Creek, WV a daughter of the late Lucian and Dicie (White) Chambers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Garfield Maynard, son Thomas Maynard, daughter Delores Godby. Also preceded by 3 brothers Roy, Foster and Namaan Chambers. 2 Sisters Edith Ferrell and Mebel McCloud. Nephews Ronald and James Frederick Stevens, Namaan McCloud and granddaughter Lori Ann Maynard. Edna attended the Shining Light United Baptist Church. She is survived by her granddaughter Nikki (Joe) Thomas of Lynchburg, VA, sisters Elsie McNeely of Chapmanville, Christie Stevens of Mill Creek and her brother Louie Chambers of Mill Creek. Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Rick Adkins officiating. Akers-James Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
