Ellis â Juniorâ Brewer, 77, of Guyan Terrace went to join his family in heaven Saturday, Sept. 6 after a prolonged illness.
Born May 13, 1931 in Wayne County. He was the son of the late Aaron Ellis and Sadie (Marcum) Brewer. Also preceding him in death were two brothers; Leonard Marcum and Bob Brewer; six sisters Opal Spears, Helen Thompson, Polly (Dob) Williams, Elsie Evans, Dixie Oney and Rose Endicott.
Ellis was a Christian and a member of the Justice Christian Church where he held the position of Elder. He was a veteran of the Korean war, earning a purple heart and silver star. He was a dedicated servant to his Lord and he was a devoted father, grand-father and great grandfather. He was a retired coal miner and truck driver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Betsy (Staggs) Brewer. Three children: Gail (Brewer) Frame( Randy) of Lake City , Fl., Martin J. Shell (Margarita) of Stuart, Fl., Rebecca J. Jenkins (Kevin) of Melbourne Fl. Eleven grandchildren: Angela Mazza ( Brad Clark) of Washington, Pa., Levi A. Bennett ( Kim) of Ocala, Fl, Cassie L. Bennett of Lake City, Fl., Randy Frame (Dee) of Lake City Fl., Clint Frame of Lake City , Fl., Jessica Frame, Lake City, Fl., Stephanie Levesque (Joe) of Stuart, Fl., Joshua Shell of Stuart, Fl., Kendall Jenkins of Stuart, Fl., Brandon Jenkins of Tallahassee Fl., Tara Jenkins of Stuart, Fl. Eleven great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Tony Mazza of Washington, Pa., Emily Levesque of Stuart, Fl., Kadin Jenkins of Stuart, Fl., Denim and Desi Mitchell of Lake City, Fl., Caiden Frame of Lake City, Fl., Hannah and Jordan Hunter of Lake City, Fl., Chelsea and Hailey Schide of Lake City, Fl. He loved and was loved by many nephews and nieces and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Sept.11, 2008 at the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Levi Bennett, Randy Frame, Brad Clark, James Hardin, C. J. Lopes, Randy Nisbet, Larry Roark, Mike Stone and Tony Mazza .
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn McDonald, Odis Ratcliff, Harold McMillen, William Carrere, Lonnie Hall, Jack Stone, Eddie Stephens, Clinton Parsley, Drexel Meade, Scottie Stone, John Yacamino.
Junior Honorary pallbearers will be Brandyn Hensley, Caleb McDonald, Peyton Branham, Andrew Bias.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Justice Christian Church Building Fund.
