Elma Jean Burgess Howe, 83, of Holden, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Bartoe; mother, Matilda McKinney; two brothers: Chauncey and Tracey Butcher; two nephews: Demis and Larry Butcher; and one sister, Betty Butcher.
She is survived by her great-niece, Kayla (Mark) Vance of Holden, whom she loved as her daughter; brother-in-law, Corman Butcher; great-niece, Jennifer (Danny) Dempsey of Duncan Fork; great-niece, Rachael (Daryll) Muncy of Duncan Fork; sister-in-law, Letha Butcher; six great great-nieces and nephews: Nathan and Abby Vance, Jenna and Haylea Dempsey, Jacob Curry, and Blake Muncy; special family friends: Lassie Blackburn and Carolyn Moore; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the James Funeral Home chapel in Logan. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby. Friends may call at the funeral from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
