Elsie June Collins

Elsie June Collins, 70, of Holden went to be with the Lord Friday October 27, 2017 at the Putnam Center at Hurricane, WV after a short illness. She was born May 25, 1947 at Holden to Lilly Belle Evans Gilman and the late Raymond Adkins. Mrs. Collins attended 7 & 8 Holden Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by: her husband, John David Collins of Holden; sons, Brian (Angie) Collins and Mark (Johnna) Collins; daughters, Michelle Southers and Jennifer (Leroy) Stepp. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday October 29, 2017 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Rev. Larry Light officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends and family may call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday also at the funeral home. One of her final wishes was for all her family, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and husband to know how much she loved them and enjoyed taking care of them.
