Elzena Lucha, 93, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Deland, Florida.
Elzena was born in Lincoln County on February 9, 1925. She was the first child of Rev. Virgil Neace and Ethel (Adkins) Neace. Waiting for her beyond the veil were her parents, her husband, James Franklin Lucha, her sisters Lillian Jean White and Edith Marie Neace, and her brother Adrian Ray Neace.
She now waits for her loved ones; A son, Dale Franklin Lucha and his wife Sandi; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Weber and her husband Rick; three granddaughters and their husbands; Alexis and Shawn Smith, Hilary Lucha and Corey Adkins and Jenna and Jason Starkey; five great grandchildren, Nic Smith, Fox Adkins, Parker, Pierce and Piper Starkey. Her sixth great-grandchild, Pace Starkey is on the way.
Elzena loved and lived her life with selflessness and independence. She gave more than she took, she took less than she deserved and she loved more than was required.
Visitation and services will be at Akers-James Funeral Home in Logan, WV beginning 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018. A eulogy will be presented at 2:00 p.m. and burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Pallbearers include Corey Adkins, Jimmy Mismas, Jason Starkey, Nic Smith, Scott Stone and Jeramie White. Akers-James Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
