Emory "Bubin" Ross, 82, of Shamrock, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV after a long illness.
Emory was born November 21, 1925 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Emory and Grace Wyant Ross. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Effie Marie Ross; two brothers, Edward Ross and William Ross; two sisters Helen Richards and Rosetta Damron. He also served in the United States Marine Corp and was retired from Arch of WV Coal Company. Surviviors include his loving wife of 57 years, Effie Ross; one daughter, Brenda (Harry) Vannatter of Shamrock; four sons Emory(Susie) Ross of Shamrock, Dean (Sherri) Ross of Verdunville, Dale (Tina) Ross of Omar and Kevin (Becky) Moore of Mitchell Heights. Emory will be sadly missed by his thirteen grandchildren; Cindia Ross of Shamrock, Harry (Brandy) Vannatter Jr. of Peach Creek, Patricia (Sal) Williams of City View; Dean Ross Jr. of South Point, Ohio, Ashley Ross of Verdunville, Teri, Dustin, Courtney and Amber Ross of Omar and Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Ethan and Landon Moore of Mitchell Heights. Five great- grandchildren; Britney and Zachary Williams of Shamrock; Dallas and Aaron Vannatter of Peach Creek and Andrew Blake Workman of Shamrock.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home with the Rev. Pete Maynard officiating and special singing by Sherman Jones Jr. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens with Military Graveside Rites. Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews and friends.
