Gary Jackson Isaacs, 75 of Lyburn, WV departed this world on January 17, 2020 and headed for his new home in heaven. He was surrounded by those who loved him more than anything when he left to be with Jesus.
Gary was born October 10, 1944 in Branchland, WV a son of the late Mary Kathryn and Lawrence Mitchell Isaacs. He was residing in Columbus, OH when he met his best friend and the love of his life, Sandra Lane. They were united in marriage on March 27, 1965 in Greenville, SC. They then moved from Columbus after having two daughters to make their permanent home in WV.
He was employed by Browning & Stacy Construction where he was a block layer and carpenter until they went out of business and he then retired from Carters Heating & Plumbing.
Gary gave his life to Jesus on August 3, 1980 and was of the Baptist faith and served the Lord for 40 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Basil Terry, Kyle Isaacs, Ronald Isaacs and James Isaacs. His three sisters Wanda Nelson, Virgie Davis, Blanch Burgess and son in law Jesse Grimmett Jr.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Sandra Isaacs, daughters Tammy (Phillip) Collins and Monica (Lee) Perry.
Brother Lawrence (Brenda) Isaacs, sister Patricia "Cricket" (Roy) Hendricks and his sister in law Theresa Isaacs. Grandchildren Phillip (Latonya) Collins, Gary (Bridgett) Collins, Kristen (Johnny) Arthur, Ashlie (John) Workman, Bethany (Aaron) Sincell and Justin (Brianna) Isaacs. Great Grandchildren Gary & Haleigh Collins, Cameran & Peyton Arthur, Shay Collins, Jesslyn & Declan Bartram, Justin "Cruze" Isaacs, Kandice Blair, Aiden Sincell, Charlee Adams and Ryker Workman. Also several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Also survived by his best friends Carl Collins and Timmy Carter and his special dog Dixie.
Gary was a wonderful husband, father and friend to many people. He was kind hearted and would do anything he could to help someone in need. He loved telling everyone about the love of God and reading and studying his Bible. He will be sadly missed by many people, but mostly his wife of 55 years Sandra Isaacs, his oldest daughter Tammy and youngest daughter Monica and his grandchildren. He loved his family more than anything in this world and his life revolved around them. As he told us many times "This isn't goodbye this is see you later."
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Akers-James Funeral Home with the Rev. Rocky Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee Perry, Justin Isaacs, Phillip Collins II, Gary Collins, Johnny Arthur, and John Workman. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Collins and Dale Isaacs.
