Gregory Franklin Kendrick, 49, of Tampa, Fla. passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007 after a life long and courageous battle with Fabry's Disease. He was born September 15, 1958 in Williamson, WV. He was a 1977 graduate of Tippecanoe High School in Tipp City, Ohio. He was a computer operations manager for twenty years in Vandelia, Ohio. He attended the Harmony Church in Tampa, Fla. He enjoyed watching football, especially his Cleveland Browns, model cars and collecting antiques and Fenton Glass. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arvin Kendrick, his maternal grandparents; John and Georgia Marcum. Five uncles; Bob Metcalf, Wade McCown Jr., Nick Henry, Larry and Clinton Kendrick. Two cousins; Rick Kendrick and Sheila Crum. He is survived by one daughter, Jessica. One granddaughter, Madison. His ex-wife, Cindy and step-daughter, Heather. He is also survived by his loving mother and his Pops, Nellene (Jerry) Metcalf of Tampa Fla. They were more than just his parents, they traveled this long and hard journey with him and cared for him until he was called to a better home. Also surviving him is his loving Father and step-mother, Henry (Marcia) Kendrick of Troy, Ohio. His paternal grandmother, Trula Kendrick of Massilon, Ohio. Other survivors include his brother, Tim (Brenda) Kendrick of Fla. Four sisters; Kim (Frank) Butcher of W.V., Rhonda (Jeff) Dill of Fla., Tammy (Rollie) Bryer of Ohio and Karen Metcalf of Fla. His step-sister, Cassie (Butch ) Harnish. His step-brother, Rick (Jennifer) Brandon. Eleven nephews, four great-nephews, six nieces and four great-nieces. A special Thanks to two of his loving and devoted Aunts, Fran McCown and Jan Henry both of Fla. Also surviving are a large host of family and friends, including two of his best and life long friends, Greg Long and John Durban both of Ohio. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 19, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Butcher-Moore Cemetery at Verdunville. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com.
