Henry Wilson, 89 of Dingess, WV received his eternal healing from our Lord on December 1, 2015 while at home following a lengthy illness with Alzheimerâs. He was born January 18, 1926 in Wayne County, WV. He was the son of the late Carter Wilson Sr. and Georgia Williamson Wilson of Dingess, WV.
In addition to his parents Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Doris L. Wilson, Brothers Tennis Wilson, Carlos Wilson of Dingess, WV and Sister Mabel Brewer of Laurel Creek, WV.
Henry was a member of the Mount Hope Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was a retired coal miner from Island Creek #16 and #25 and Leslie Coal Company as well as a member of the UMWA District 17.
Henry is survived by his special nephew Kevin E. Wilson of Dingess and special nieces Kimberly May of McAndrews, KY and Debbie Wilson Baisden and her husband Elvis Baisden of Dingess, WV. Brothers Carter (Barbara) Wilson; Clifford (Eloise) Wilson of Dingess, WV; Orson (Louise) Wilson of South Haven, Mississippi and one sister Ellen Wellman of Charleston, WV, special caregiver Pat Sheppard of Dingess, WV and a host of friends, family, nieces, nephews. As he would always sing his favorite song, he was blessed, every day, he was blessed!
Visitation will be at the Mount Hope Freewill Baptist church on Friday December 4, 2015 with church services beginning at 7 p.m with Rev. Jimmy Newsome officiating. Funeral services will be on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Curtis Booth officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilson Family Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
