Homer R. Varney

Homer R. Varney 76 of Dingess went to be with the Lord Monday July 14, 2008 at his home. He was born September 8, 1931 in Cattletsburg, Ky. He was the son of the late James and Letha Preston Varney of Belo, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by One Daughter: Barbara Varney Dingess, Daughter-in-law: Tammy Evans Varney, Two Sisters: Carol Mahon, Betty Stone and Three infant siblings and Brother-in-law: Mack Mullins. He was a Navy Veteran and a graduate of Lenore High School. Those left to cherish memories of Homer his wife Barbara Lois Mullins Varney of Dingess, Two Sons: Brent (Rebecca) Varney of Man, WV and Kent (Bridgette) Varney of Circleville, Ohio, One Daughter: Amber (Charles) Chandler of Dingess, Three Brothers: Rudolph (Vorice) Varney, Jimmy (Polly) Varney and Ralph (Peggy) Varney, One Sister: Estella (Andy) Chancellor and Brother-in-law: Cecil Mullins. He loved his grandchildren dearly. Evan, James, Cheyanne and Danielle Varney, Daniel Varney, David Dingess, Homer Allen, Marvin Derek Spry, Joseph, Alexandria Chandler and Krystina Preece, Three great grandchildren. Everyone Homer knew was special to him. Dear to his heart Kelli Jo Sorrell, Lena Maynard and Patricia Gayle Frye. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday July 18, 2008 at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Dingess-Varney Cemetery at Dingess with military graveside services. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday July 17, 2008 at James Funeral Home.
