Jack Conn 72 of Dingess passed away Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 12, 1939 in Mingo County. He was the son of the late Johnny and Minerva Marcum Conn. Jack was a member and Deacon of the Mount Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess. He was also a retired coal miner and a United States Marine Corps Veteran. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by One Brother: Henry Conn. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Tilda Conn, Two Daughters: Patricia Kay and husband Jim Jewett, Wanda Sue and husband Jackie Nelson, Son: Johnny Ray and wife Michelle Conn, Grandchildren: Jackie Lee Nelson, Amy Fri, Jason Nelson, Kayla Maerker, Jacklyn Paige Conn and Joshua Conn, One Great Grandchild: Makaila Nelson, Two Sisters: Becky and husband Anthony Fleming, Phyllis and John L. Messer, One Brother: Wayne and Virginia Conn, Two Brother-in-laws: Jake and wife Wanda Finley, Andy and wife Elaine Finley, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess with Rev. Cornelius Lackey, Rev. Matthew Wilson and Rev. Ray Messer Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Military Graveside Services. Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Friday May 16, 2008 at the church with special services to begin at 7:00 P.M.
