James R. Jimison, 88, of McConnell went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 17, 2007. He was born on December 29, 1918 in Logan to the late J.W. and Margaret Jimison. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruby Burgess Jimison, his two brothers and three sisters and one grandson. He is survived by his son Richard "Corky" (Loretta Hale) Jimison of Huntington, his daughter, Judy (Kenneth) Wittebols of Sterling Heights, Michigan. Five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He served with the U.S. Army under General Patten in Germany and France during World War II and was awarded a Silver Star for his bravery in action. He was a member of the McConnell Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday June 20, 2007 at James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will then begin at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. John Godby officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. Condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com.
