James Muchera 78 of Valley View passed away peacefully at home Sunday December 28, 2008 from a long illness. He was born September 16, 1930 in Glen Cove, New York. He was the son of the late Angelo Muchera and Angela and Stanley Slotvitsky. He was a veteran of the USAF. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Logan. He volunteered at Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah. Survivors include his Son: Ron Muchera of Valley View, Daughters: Patty (Dan) Ferguson of Huntington, WV, Ann (George) Deer of Dempsey Branch, Teresa (Neil) Ashworth of Concorde, North Carolina and Tina (Jon) Fisher of Melville, Brothers: Robert Muchera of New Jersey, Stanley Slovitsky of Delaware and Russell Albanese of Arizona, Grandchildren: Sylvia (Jason) Stutler of Huntington, Leigh Ann (Danny) McKinney of Proctorville, Ohio, Shawn (Missy) Deer of Valley View, Shannon (Nick) Orso of Monaville, Jamie (Ernie) Green of Dempsey Branch, Christopher Ashworth of Concorde, North Carolina and Peggy (Todd) Johnson of Stollings, Great Garndchildren: Landon McKinney, Austin Deer, Alysun Green and Trent Orso. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 1, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Military Graveside services. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday December 31, 2008 at James Funeral Home.
