Jeanetta Rose Mullins Chart of Merritt Island, Fl, formerly of Manhattan, KS was born April 26, 1942 in Logan, WV. She passed away peacefully on December 21, 2016.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 48 years, Harold G. Chart, her parents Clarence and Beatrice Mullins of Merritt Island, FL and one brother, Clarence E. âBudâ Mullins, Jr. of Romulus, MI.
Survisors include her son, Michael George Chart (wife Lori); grandsons Brock Andrew Chart and Austin Michael Chart of Salina, KS. Five sisters and their spouses, Betty Jo Moore (Dan), Charleston, WV, Brenda Skibo (Dick), Merritt Island, FL, Sharon DeMuth (David), Boca Raton, FL, Pam White, Holden, WV, Carolyn Staton (Michael), Merritt Island, FL and one brother Fred Mullins (Nicky), Romulus, MI. Loving friends and sisters-in-law, Geraldine 'Gerryâ Sturm, St. Petersburg, FL. and Barbara Mullins, Romulus, MI.
Jeanetta retired from the US Government serving as Transition Services Manager, Army Career and Alumni Program, Fort Riley, Kansas home of the Big Red One. She was awarded the ACAP Coin for her outstanding performance and commitment to transitioning soldiers and their family members. She was instrumental in establishing Fort Rileyâs ACAP Center as a model for others to emulate. âHer caring attitude and desire to provide the best quality transition services reflect credit upon herself, the Army Career and Alumni Program, and the United States Armyâ. Before settling in Kansas, she and her family traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
Jeanetta was a member of the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, FL. She was a member of the Navy League, Cape Canaveral Council Chapter, where she supported and fundraised for the Sea Cadets.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Jeanettaâs life will be 1:00 Friday December 30 at Akers-James Funeral Home, Logan, WV, with Rev. Theodore Ballard and Rev. Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the services also at the funeral home.
