John Dame

John Dame, 80 of Chapmanville departed this life Monday, August 26 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. 

He was born May 26, 1944, to the late Anna Lee and Thomas Dame. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Dame and Charles Dame; and his sister, Shera (Dame) Coats. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sharon (Dunn) Dame; sister, Martha Dame; brothers, Glen (Barbara) Dame, and Larry (Janet) Dame; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Maria (Michael) Faris; two special great-nieces, Lindsey (Chuck) Gaylor and Kaitlin (Bub) Sada. Special thank you to Mary Nemeth Pyles and Larry Maynard for helping during this time of grief. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 31 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Daryl Densford officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Friday, August 30, also at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Larry Maynard, Mike Farris, Teddy Rogers, Luther Shell, Bub Sada, Chuck Gaylor, and Rick Wells. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Dame and Larry Dame. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Akers-James Funeral Home.
