John Elgun (Johnny) Tomblin, 59, of Verdunville, departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home with his family by his side after a long battle of cancer while under the care of Dignity Hospice.
Born February 19, 1956 in Logan, he was the son of the late Arkie and Nellie Johnson Tomblin also of 15 Mud Fork. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: James Orville and Mark Tomblin; and one nephew, Archie James Tomblin. John was a retired employee of Southern WV Community and Technical College.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Loretta Lynn Hunter Tomblin; one son, John Richard (Krista) Tomblin of Omar; four brothers: Columbus ââ¬ÅBoââ¬Â (Linda) Tomblin Sr., Arkie Lee (Pam) Tomblin, Timothy Bruce Tomblin, and Joseph Lin (Shirley) Tomblin; three sisters: Patty Ann (Herbert) Edwards, Drema Sue (Donald) Sargent, and Delana Sue (Dee) Tomblin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
John was loved very much and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice and his family care givers especially Justin J. Tomblin, his nephew, and the 5th floor staff and doctors at Logan Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Hedgeview Christian Baptist Church at Mud Fork with Revs. Randy Skeens and Barney Goins officiating. Friends may call at the church between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV. John will be carried to rest by his nephews and friends.
Also, love and prayers go out to special friends of Johnââ¬â¢s: Tony (Buster) Blair, Judy and Ray Stamper, Sharon, Denny, Mark, and Matt Muncy, Bill and Robin Western, Paul and Tony Rose Perdue, who were all the best neighbors John could have asked for.
