John C. Wellman

John C. Wellman, 72 of Logan departed this life December 27, 2022, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan.

He was born June 1, 1950, in Logan to the late John Edwin and Pauline Osburne Wellman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Johnathan Wellman, and aunt, Charlene Hatton.

John was of the Baptist faith. He was involved in many organizations, he was a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 Scottish Rite, PM, Hamlin Chapter #106 Order of the Eastern Star and PP of Logan Chapter #60, Odd Fellows #274 PNG, Madison Rebekah Lodge #99, Kentucky Colonel, and a Ham Radio Operator now known as a silent key WD8DRV.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Debra Bias Wellman; grandchildren, Dakota Brianne Wellman, and Haddie Demira Wellman; daughter-in-law, Emma Ruth Hannah-Wellman; uncle, Larry Hatton of Catlettsburg, KY; cousins, Theresa Jackson, Dr. Paula (Greg) Larson, and Frank Hatton; special friends, Michael Johnson, Jack Blankenship, and Bruce Weyenberg.

Honoring his wishes his remains have been cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Camp Kno Koma, 364 Patterson Dr No. 284 Morgantown, WV 26505 304-559-7351
