Jonna Renee Wright

d. December 30, 2020

Jonna Renee Wright, 53, of Whitman, West Virginia went home to be with her Savior, her Dad, and her Granny and many more on December 30th, 2020. Jonna was truly a blessing to all that had the opportunity to meet her. To know her was to love her and rest assured, she loved you. Jonna is survived by her mom Julia, her sister Jodi (Doug) McCloud; her brother Darren (Terri) Wright. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Brianna Hager, Shelby Cook, Ashley Evans, John Derek Wright, a great nephew Jase Evans, soon to be great niece baby Evans, and baby Sug who she was anticipating babysitting come July. She also had two “nephew son in laws” as only she would call them, Bobby Hager and Trent Cook. Special to Jonna was her family pets, Angus Bo, Gunner Hank, and Gracie Lou whom she considered her “fur” nephews and niece. Jonna was a devoted member of #20 Whitman Community Church where she enjoyed being part of the prayer line, singing in the choir, and being the smiling face that tried to greet everyone she could. Considering Jonna never forgot a soul, if you met her, she remembered you and counted you as her friend. Jonna never let the world get to her. She had a lot of reasons to give up in her life, but she always chose to be her kind self. She was one of a kind, marching to beat of her own drum, and perfect in her own way. She remained a happy face with a childlike heart and soul who loved nothing more than to cheat her family in a game of cards, play games, and be the light of the party. In her spare time, you would find Jonna coloring, painting, talking on the phone, playing with an animal, visiting with her neighbors David, Jamie, and the boys, reading her Bible, or even on Facebook. She taught her family and friends what life was truly all about. Jonna's service will be held at Akers-James Funeral Home on Monday January 4th, 2021 with visitation starting at 11:00am and service starting at 12pm with Pastor Joaquine Ooten officiating. Pallbearers will be Darren Wright, Doug McCloud, Trent Cook, Bobby Hager, John Derek Wright, Ralph Brown, Trey Staggs, Michael Watts, and John Toler. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Akers-James Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses. Online condolences may be left at www.jamesfh.com Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic facemasks are required inside the funeral home at all times and social distancing guidelines should be followed. “To be absent from our body is to be present with the Lord.” For this reason, she is rejoicing in Heaven, catching up with family that has gone on before, meeting Jesus who held her hand her whole life and waiting on us to meet her there. If Heaven had a phone line, she would’ve already called to tell us all about it! We are looking forward to the day we can join her in Heaven just as she would want it. Akers-James Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
