Joseph âJoeâ Tomblin, 55 of Mt. Gay, WV passed away January 16, 2019 at St. Maryâs Hospital at Huntington, WV following a long battle with heart disease.
He was born March 8, 1963 to the late Arkie and Nellie Johnson Tomblin of Mt. Gay, WV. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Johnny, Mark, and James Tomblin.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Shirley Browning Tomblin; sons, Justin Tomblin of Charleston, WV and Ozlen Perry at home; daughter, Shylah (Jordon) Clark Maynard of Cow Creek, WV; 3 sisters, Delana (Derrick âDeeâ) Woody of Logan, WV; Drema (Donald) Sargent of Vurdenville, WV, and Patty (Herbert) Edwards of Vermillion, OH; 3 brothers, Arkie Lee Tomblin of Mt. Gay, WV, Timmy Tomblin of Mt. Gay, WV, and Columbus âBoâ ( Linda) Tomblin of Elyria, OH; 3 step-daughters, Monica (Chet) Nichols of Sarah Ann, WV, Hollie (David) Lukacs of Mt. Gay, WV, and Toni âRosieâ (Patrick) Dingess of Whitman, WV; granddaughter, Mia Maynard of Cow Creek, WV; step-granddaughter, Keilee Childers of Mt. Gay, WV; 4 step-grandsons, Russell (Shayla) Bradford of Crooked Creek, WV, Chad (Savanna) Bradford of Verdunville, WV, Ryan (Miranda) Davis of Crawley Creek, WV, and Adam Lukacs of Mt. Gay, WV; 3 step great-granddaughters, Braylee and Julia Bradford of Crooked Creek, WV, and Eden Bradford of Verdunville, WV; 1 step great-grandson, Kayne Stapleton of Crawley Creek, WV; a very special niece, Amanda (Eugene) Mullins of Whitman, WV. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, and a very special nephew, Tony âBusterâ Blair.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday January 21, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Rev. Carson Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday January 20, 2019 also at the funeral home.
