Karen Workman Marcum

Karen Workman Marcum 55 of Holden Passed away Sunday August 31, 2008 at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born January 10, 1953 at Holden. She was the daughter of the late Freddie and Brookie Sturgill Workman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son: J.R. Workman. She was a member of the Mt. Gay Freewill Baptist Church and in the furniture business for many years her last 9 years at Big Sandy Superstore in Charleston, WV. Survivors include her husband: Colby Marcum, One Daughter: Sheena Brook (Brian) Farley of Jacksonville, North Carolina, One Sister: Glenna Jo Bias of Ethel, WV, Three Brothers: Roy (Teal) Workman of SDansville, Mi., Daniel Workman and Mike Workman and friend Donna both of Holden and Sister-in-law: Drema, One Special Uncle: Isaac Sturgill of Davin and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday September 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layton Lockhart and Rev. Melvin Messer officiating. Burial will follow in Vance Cemetery at Copperston at Holden. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at James Funeral Home. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
