Kenneth Edward Maynard Sr., 76 of West Logan departed this life Sunday April 1, 2018 at his residence.
He was born December 4, 1941 at Man, WV to the late General and Myrtle Prichard Maynard. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by: his sons, Billy Maynard and Edward Maynard; his mother-in-law to be, Imogene Toler; brothers, Jimmy Maynard, Billy Maynard, and William âBobâ Maynard; sisters, Mary Elkins, Audrey Janice Bias, and Shirley Hambrick.
Kenneth worked for 27 years in the coal mines. He loved to turkey hunt, deer hunt, and he also enjoyed fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his fiancé of 22 years, Cindy Toler; sons, William (Beth) Maynard, Michael (Katrina) Maynard, and Kenneth (Tamara Sanders) Maynard Jr.; daughters, Mary (Tim) Skaggs, and Kayla (Tyler) Mullins; his father-in-law to be, Ernest âMoodyâ Toler; daughter-in-lawâs, Mary (Walls) Maynard and Shelia (Daniels) Maynard; 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2018 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Bassil Goodman and Merl Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pallbearers will be: Deputy Dennis Brown, Caleb Runyon, Jake Browning, Jason Walls, Homer Stepp, and Gary Blackburn.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday April 4, 2018 also at the funeral home.
