Larry Mitchell passed too soon on March 30th at 7:30 AM, in Charleston, West Virginia surrounded by his family.
He was a loving, kind, and upstanding member of the community of Logan for over 70 years, treating all those around him like family, and willing to help anyone in need. As a construction worker, he was no stranger to hard work but knew when to use his tender heart to encourage and support those who needed it. He knew the best shortcuts around the town, carried his
pocket Bible everywhere, and could preach the Lord’s words as well as a pastor.
He has joined his father, Hezz Mitchell, his mother, Mildred Mitchell, his sisters Barbara Evans, and Joyce Foxx, his brothers, James and Jerry Mitchell, and his granddaughter Tiffany Marcum in the Lord’s kingdom.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lucille Mitchell, his brother, Charles Mitchell his son, Larry Benjamin Mitchell, his daughter, Armelda Lynn Goodwin, his 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and all those who had the pleasure to know him while he was with us. However, he will live on in our hearts and in the chorus of every Bob Dylan song we hear.
The celebration of his life will come sometime at the end of the summer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Akers-James Funeral Home, Logan, WV.
