Larry David Wolford

Larry David Wolford, 83 of Henlawson, WV left his earthly home for his heavenly home Monday, February 17, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born May 27, 1941, to the late Evelyn and Homer Wolford. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deena Michelle (Micki) Gore and brother, Bill Wolford.

Larry was a 1959 graduate of Matewan High School and later graduated from Marshall University. He served 3 years in the US Army Band and the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from the Logan County Board of Education after teaching band for 36 years. Larry was also a member of the 20 Whitman Community Church.

He is survived by his wife Susan; son, Shawn (Tracy); grandchildren, Hali (Frank) Utley, Taylor Gore, Donny Wolford, Johnathan Gore, and Braxton Wolford; great-granddaughter, Jayden Meade, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7 pm Friday, February 21, 2025 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Light officiating. Visitation will be from 5 pm until the time of the service.
