Lee Roy Belcher, 64, of Logan went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 11, 2007 following a lingering illness. He was born November 18, 1942 to the late Charles and Violet Lowe Belcher of Logan. Also preceding him in death was his two brothers; Erman and Arthur Belcher. He worked fourteen years in the coal mines at Lyburn and then retired from the Logan County Commission. Lee loved going to Whitman Community Church with his wife Carolyn and riding 4-wheelers and taking care of his fish pond. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Belcher. Five sons; Anthony, Gary, Larry, Troy and Chico (Cindy) all of Logan and Bryan Workman, his grandson in which he raised like a son. Three daughters; Darlene Workman of Holden, Tammy (Gordon) Thomas on Pineville and Jennifer Belcher of Logan. His grandchildren; Bryan Workman, Gary Jr., Barbie, Justin Belcher, Larry Jr., Prescott, William Belcher, Tyler Sipple, Kaitlyn Thomas, Tee Jaye Thomas, Danielle (Richard) Larkins and Kaitlyn's brother or sister due in October. His twin great-grandchildren, Christian and Laina Thomas. His brothers and sisters; Thurman, Herman, Odell, Bertha, Mary, Dorothy and many nieces and nephews and additional family members. Visitation will be Wednesday June 13, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the #20 Whitman Community Church. Funeral Services will be Thursday June 14, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the #20 Whitman Community Church with Rev. Joaquine Ooten officiating. Burial will follow in Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby.
