Lillian G. (Parsons) McDonald, 95 of Crooked Creek departed this life on Monday May 7, 2018 at the Dignity Hospice House at Chapmanville.
She was born April 19, 1923 in Lincoln County to the late Delbert and Nellie Parsons. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Ralph W. McDonald; granddaughter, Ronda Creakman; and two sisters, Margaret Short and Margie Dingess.
She married Ralph W. McDonald on June 7, 1945 after he had completed a tour of duty during WW2 serving in the Army Air Corp on the North African and European fronts. Lillian also contributed to the war effort by working for Sylvania Electronics of Huntington, WV in their production of needed components for the US Military. Lillian was a member of the 1942 graduating class of Logan High School. She was a longtime member of the Crooked Creek Church of Christ upon being baptized into Christ on May 5, 1948.
She is survived by: one daughter, Sherlie (Ron) Ellis of Crooked Creek; one son, Rex McDonald of Stockport, OH; two grandchildren, James Brian Ellis, and Brandon McDonald; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Creakman, and Aidan Ellis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday May 10, 2018 at Akers-James Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. â 2p.m. Thursday also at the funeral home.
