Lois June (Williamson) Bowers, 88 of Verdunville, WV ascended from this life to her heavenly home on July 27, 2020 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born January 26, 1932 to the late Amos and Lilly (Moore) Williamson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bowers Jr.; daughter, Sherry Milam; sisters, Nary Burton and Roxie Trent; brothers, Dallas, Lowell, and Carlos Williamson.
Lois June was a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church at Verdunville, WV. She was a very dear friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene (Ron) Bush and Mabel Kirk; brothers, Sherman Rudy (Janet) Williamson of Ohio; children, Carol Guthrie of Poquoson, VA, David Bowers, Linda (David) Gore both of Stollings, WV, Debbie (Bo) Daniels of Verdunville, WV, with whom she made her home, and Carlson (Beverly) Bowers of Verdunville, WV; son-in-law, Johnny Milam; grandchildren, Kellie Guthrie Johnson, Holly Guthrie Joyner, Erinn Duncker, Ryan Bowers, Kerry Bowers, Shane (Michelle) Gore, Brandi Gore, Chantelle (Larry) Halley, Darrin (Marinda) Daniels, David (Jaclyn) Daniels, Destiny and Carly Bowers; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; special nephew, Dwight Williamson of Verdunville, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Gore officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville, WV. Visitation will from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the Governorâs guidelines for large gatherings only 25 people will be allowed in the facility at one time. Please plan your visit accordingly as you may be asked to wait before entering the building. Face coverings are also required when inside the building and social distancing should be taken into consideration. If anyone is unable to attend, the services will be live streamed via the link on our website www.jamesfh.com.
