Lucy Browning McComas

Lucy Browning McComas, 94, of Stollings departed this life on Tuesday, Octobe 2, 2007 at her home after a year long illness. She was born July 27, 1913 to the late Marion and Mae Browning Stafford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie McComas. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Ruth McComas White, her sister, Elsie Gomez and her brothers; Orville, Cecil, Earl and Ervin Browning. Lucy was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for others, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed writing and receiving letters from her relatives and especially enjoyed going to church, every Sunday prior to her illness with her granddaughter, Kathy, at the Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Logan where she was a member. Lucy also had a fond love of animals. She is survived b her daughters; Donna (Bill) McNelly of Chapmanville and Janet (Jim) Bailey of McConnell. Her son-in-law, Gene White also of McConnell. Her grandchildren; Kathy Bailey Yeager and Rick (Sandy) Bailey both of Chapmanville. Her great-grandchildren; Rick Bailey II, Kourtney Yeager, Whitney (Craig) Yeager Hager, Stephanie (Thurston) Bailey Hill and Steven and Christopher Bailey. Her great-great-grandchildren; Logan Bailey and Tanner Hill. Her sister-in-law, Pauline Browning and a special friend, Kevin Marcum. Graveside Services will be Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
